Ward Cunningham is best known for having invented wiki in 1995. He has also made substantial contributions to object-oriented programming and the software methodologies it enables.
Ward started his career working for the instrument manufacturer, Tektronix. He was hired to bring the large system design experience to the emerging world of microprocessors.
Ward still dabbles with microcontrollers. This site hosts a series of blog posts, addressed mostly to his colleagues at Dorkbot, about an interpretive language he invented and had been applying to all maner of weekend projects.
